Bingley Rural Conservative Councillor's joined parents and children walking from Wilsden to Bingley Grammar School setting off at 6.30am on Wednesday 18 December.
The walk aimed to highlight the 'unsafe' route some children would have to walk if Bradford Council's plans to end the dedicated bus services were to go ahead.
Bingley Rural Ward Councillor Paul Sullivan said
"The parents were keen to show as many councillors as they could that this walk would be dangerous, take over an hour and would leave the children tired at the start of the school day. Unfortunately no one from any other political party accepted the invitation to come along"
Bingley Rural Ward Councillor Falak Ahmed said
"I walk regularly but I would not like to do this walk everyday. Don't forget its not only walking to school, the children would have to walk home every evening too"
Councillor Geoff Winnard also one of the Bingley Rural ward councillors said,
"It's been a privilege to support local families who are very worried about the impact of Bradford's perverse plan to end the dedicated bus services to Bingley Grammar School and the Catholic St Bedes and St Joseph's secondary school.
It is not too late for Bradford Council to listen to the views of the families likely to be effected and decide to retain these important bus services "
