The long neglected and derelict Mansion House at St Ive’s Estate has been subject to fire damage . West Yorkshire Police say that they are investigating a crime of arson.
After visiting the site with Cllr Paul Sullivan, Geoff Winnard Conservative candidate for Bingley Rural in the district council election in May this year said,
‘It’s very disappointing that the Grade 2 Listed Building at the core of the St Ives’s Estate has been left in such derelict state . The suspicious fire has only made matters even worse. Surely Bradford Council as the freeholder must take action to ensure that this heritage building is restored to its former glory.
Action is also needed to address the ongoing anti social behaviour which seems to be taking place on the site of this building".
