Today, the Government is introducing a raft of new measures to drive innovation and science, giving the Science and Tech industry the investment it needs to remain world-leading, as Conservatives stick to their plan to grow the economy and ensure a brighter future for all.
- We need scientists to be working to address global challenges that will drive economic growth and increase national resilience. That is why we have announced a £121 million funding package across the UK to help pioneer new technologies that will innovate farming and better prepare us for pandemics and floods, stripping back red tape for cutting-edge scientific research. This means we can continue to lead the global tech frontier whilst preparing the UK for the challenges of the future.
- The Conservatives have a plan to ensure the Science and Tech sector is ready to deliver for our economy in the long-term, creating a brighter and more prosperous future for years to come. Labour cannot say how they would grow the economy because they do not have a plan to fund their £28 billion of spending promises, meaning our children will be worse off whilst the economy goes back to square one.
