Local authorities across England are receiving £8.3 billion as part of plans to deliver road improvements, delivering safer roads for drivers.
- Last November, the Conservative Government announced an extra £8.3 billion to improve local roads across England, enough to resurface over 5,000 miles of road, made possible by reallocated HS2 funding. Councils have already received £150 million, with another £150 million to follow this year. 102 of the 119 authorities that received funding have responded to the Government’s request to set out their plans, delivering much needed local road improvements.
- This Conservative Government is on the side of drivers and is sticking with the plan to deliver the biggest ever funding increase for local road improvements.
